We are currently assisting a leading renewable energy company in their search for a highly skilled Technical Advisor to join their investment team. This role is based in Singapore and is pivotal in driving strategic growth through mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and feasibility studies for new projects.
The Technical Advisor will leverage their technical expertise to conduct thorough technical due diligence, assess feasibility studies, and support M&A activities for renewable energy projects across the APAC region. This role is instrumental in ensuring the technical viability and strategic fit of potential investments, helping to drive the company’s growth in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive technical due diligence for potential investments in renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and other renewable technologies.
- Evaluate feasibility studies to determine the technical and financial viability of new projects.
- Provide technical insights and recommendations to support M&A activities, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather and analyze technical data and reports.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with potential investments.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements and trends in renewable energy technologies and integrate this knowledge into the investment evaluation process.
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports and findings to the investment team and senior management.
- Support the negotiation and execution of investment agreements by providing technical expertise and input.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in technical due diligence, feasibility studies, and M&A within the renewable energy sector.
- 7-15 year of working experience
- Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, including wind, solar, and other sustainable energy solutions.
- Demonstrated experience with renewable energy projects, with a preference for candidates who have worked on multiple types of renewable energy projects (e.g., solar and wind).
- Experience with projects in the APAC/SEA region is highly advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical data and make informed recommendations.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.
- Experience with financial modeling and analysis related to renewable energy investments will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the renewable energy industry.
- Knowledge of APAC renewable energy markets and trends will be an advantage.
