Role Summary
This role will report to Head of Product.
The selected candidate will serve as Fullerton’s product expert in areas of product development, product structuring and project management (including coordination of fund documentation and operational set up to bring the product to market). The selected candidate will have the responsibility to coordinate and initiate product discussions with internal stakeholders within Fullerton as well as external stakeholders (e.g. service providers).
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility is to assist the Head of Product in initiating, facilitating, and driving the development, structuring and implementation of Fullerton strategies and funds, with a primary focus on developing public market strategies/funds.
- Proactive engagement with stakeholders (esp. Business Development and Investment team) to identify appropriate solutions for clients taking into consideration clients’ requirements and explore avenues to grow the firm’s AUM.
- Perform research or peer scan with a focus on competitor product features (e.g. strategy, pricing, legal structure, size, fund domicile, liquidity terms etc.), to come up with competitive product design and product positioning etc.
- Own and control project management and timeline, conduct regular project meetings to facilitate discussion with key stakeholders on progress of individual work streams, preparation of call reports to track action steps, fund set-up and legal documentation etc.
- Report to the Head of Product on progress of overall project, including budgets (i.e. revenue projection and fund expenses) and outstanding issues.
- Conduct verification exercise and follow through the entire end-to-end process of new products before going live (e.g. prepare materials for new product approval, new fund take-on checklist and pre-fund inception kick-off meeting etc.).
- Managing all aspects of the product life cycle from new fund launches, restructuring, closures and regulatory developments.
- Coordinate with internal teams (e.g. Legal, Risk & Compliance, Operations and Investment team) and external service providers, to drive fund launches in accordance with project timeline.
Education Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, Finance or Business related preferred.
Experience and Skills
- 10-15 years of experience in product development / product structuring / product management, in the fund management industry
- Familiar with public market products and legal structures, tax schemes and investment regulatory frameworks across jurisdictions (e.g. CIS Code and UCITS)
- Background from Asset Management preferred
- Demonstrates strength in financial modelling and product structuring
- Demonstrates good analytical thinking, problem solving, decision-making and judgement by gathering and applying relevant data to resolve issues
- Good team player, embrace a collaborative and open working culture
- Proactive, good interpersonal skill, ability to multi-task and work under pressure and timeline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
