Role Accountabilities
Management Reporting
- Administrative work for collection of safety data, operational and commercial matters and maintain up-to-date analysis in excel sheets and build graphical representation.
- Perform general office duties, such as maintain records and performing basic bookkeeping work.
- File and retrieve corporate documents, records and generate weekly and monthly reports.
- Assist with meeting coordination, scheduling and managing meeting minutes.

Operations
- Be responsible for the operational excellence for the Swire Bulk owned & operated fleet. Always taking a pro-active position on continual improvement and implementing appropriate policies. Responsible for the maximisation of efficiency of the vessels at sea and in port, and responsibility for managing vessels P&L in the operational environment. Keep current and strictly implement procedures for reporting vessel performances (speed and consumption, hold cleaning, cargo separations) / explain underlying IMOS/PnL variances with the relevant chartering person for each operated voyage.
Vessel Operations
- Liaise with regional offices (chartering and operations) to ensure the smooth operation of the owned and operated fleet across basins.
- Execute “State-of-the-Art” operations of the owned and chartered fleet of bulk carriers to increase wherever possible the efficiency of the fleet at sea (routing / slow steaming) and ashore (stow planning vs port line-ups, intake optimization) to maximise returns for the Swire Bulk group.
- In conjunction with the bunker desk and chartering team, optimize & manage the bunker requirements of the owned and chartered fleet.
Laytime Calculation & Invoices
- Appraise themselves with the relevant clauses of the governing charter party
- Collect port papers, statements of facts and all relevant documents for each port of call
- Prompt engagement with the Senior Post Fixture on difficult counterparty and disputes
- Supporting the Senior PFA on settling any disputes
- Raise invoices in IMOS for the settlement of laytime and balance of freight
Chartering
- Calculate and execute business accurately, clearly, effectively and efficiently
- Measure and own financial accountability for all voyage calculations / business secured
- Calculations and fixtures to be captured within the IMOS operating system
- Recognise and understanding all voyage pricing constituents – port costs, fuels costs, market levels expected for owned or third party rates. Clear understanding of the competition – and their pricing mechanisms
Safety

- Undergraduate with preference in Maritime Studies or other related programme
