Job Description - Required Skills
• Project Manager / Scrum Master. Early career, 3-4 years’ experience (+/-).
• Experience must be from banking environment.
• Working in a small PMO team, under Programme Manager, your duties to include:
• Preparing for, running and reporting on weekly/monthly/quarterly project cadences.
• Production of key project artefacts such as project plans (excel), meeting minutes, project status summaries.
• Preparing and socialising key stakeholder communications (PPT) for mid-senior level stakeholders.
• In this role you will be required to engage with Data Science project team and a range of business stakeholders.
• This is a business facing role. Being diligent, conscientious and presentable with focus on quality and detail is important. Logical thought, accuracy of communications and quality of presentation are key.
• Support the Data Science Leads and Business Stakeholders in ideation of data science projects, confirmation of business objectives and documentation of the same.
• Run data science projects from inception to delivery. Focusing on mid / high level milestones and business integration and realisation of business value.
• Deep understanding of data science is not required but you should have a high-level understanding of what a machine learning model is, what data analytics is and how they are typically applied to deliver value in banking.
• Strong foundation in project management techniques is required, ideally knowing how and when to apply PM approaches pragmatically, to achieve optimal business outcomes. Don’t just follow PMP / Prince2 / Scrum but know where and when to apply techniques and blend them if required, based on the situation.
• Ability to identify potential project risks and issues, bring stakeholders together to resolve at working level or breakdown larger problems and deduce solution options, then present for senior decision, as appropriate.
• You will be required to manage several projects concurrently. Generally organised into programme streams and tracking against high level milestones. Commitment to achieve the milestones communicated to business should remain top of mind.
• Demonstrable skills / experience in organisation, time management, leadership as well as problem solving, negotiation and the ability to keep calm and focused on delivery, even in high pressure situations and against tight deadlines.
