Senior Manager / Assistant Director (Research)
Specific Job Responsibilities
As Senior Manager / Assistant Director (Research), you will be responsible for:
(i) Developing plans and grant schemes that will build up AI research capabilities and support the translation of research
(ii) Working with agencies and companies to leverage research to drive sectoral outcomes. This would include identifying major use cases, resolving stumbling blocks and putting place necessary research infrastructure
(iii) Engaging international research organisations to strengthen Singapore’s research network and profile

You are part of a larger network of agencies that are working together to achieve the client’s goals. You will also work closely with public research institutions and industry corporate labs.

Requirements
An ideal candidate should possess the following:
· At least 5 years of working experience in conceptualising, structuring, and implementing technology partnerships
· Familiarity with AI technology and capabilities
o This role will require you to be sufficiently familiar at a savvy user / technology translator level as you will need to speak with highly technical experts as well as business leaders. We don’t need you to be a researcher, but we need you to be able to talk credibly to one.
· Experience working in the public sector or in a research organisation
Personal traits:
· Self-starter with strong organisational and coordination skills who is able to multi-task and get things done in a fast-paced environment
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage a wide spectrum of external and internal stakeholders, and orchestrate collaborations with stakeholders
· Resourceful and proactive, able to work around ambiguity
· Strong team player able to contribute and lead in a cross-functional team
