We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, preparing financial reports, and supporting the overall financial health of the company. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent analytical skills.
Roles & Responsibilities
Statutory Financial Reporting:
- Preparation and submission of statutory financial statements for the group of companies in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
General Ledger Maintenance:
- Ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Perform reconciliations of accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Analyse financial information and summarize financial status.
- Prepare and present financial reports to management.
- Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documents and explanations to auditors.
Accounts Receivables:
- Process and manage incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables’ data.
- Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients’ billing issues.
- Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
- Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.
Any other finance duties assigned by Finance Assistant Manager.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good command of English language skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Strong financial analysis and modelling skills.
Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Familiarity with logistics-specific financial best practices and industry trends an advantage.
