Main Responsibilities
- Reports to the Principal Engineer (Electrical).
Design & Solutioning
- Support/participate in engineering design for integration and system development HVAC electro-mechanical systems.
- Prepare, or supervise the preparation of, drawings for HVAC plant system general arrangements, power single line diagrams, cable block diagrams, instrumentation loop diagrams, P&IDs, control system architecture drawings, and cable, instrument and I/O schedules at detailed design level.
- Drafting of panel layout, schematic and control drawing of starter and PLC panel.
- Develop and release of engineering component and assembly drawings.
Projects & Operations
- Support schedule development for key project timelines/milestones.
- Participate Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of starters and PLC panels.
- Conduct testing and commissioning for projects.
- Attend to ad-hoc electrical issues at maintenance sites for troubleshooting and provide recommendations.
- Contractor liaison, engagement/provide requirements.
- Supervision: Oversee engineers/subcontractors to generate detailed drawings, compile reports.
- Perform review/analysis, perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of electrical issues.
- Evaluate / review selection of electrical subcontractors.
- Review testing and certification reports.
- Quality Assurance: Complete electrical quality assurance tasks and equipment inspection.
- Training: Assist with recruitment, training, and onboarding of new hires.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with relevant standards.
Qualifications and experience
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Engineering/Facility Management
- Experience: >10 years project/facility management, factory plant operations.
- In-depth knowledge in panel design, layout arrangement of starter panel and PLC panel.
- In-depth knowledge on HVAC systems and HVAC(ACMV) controls, VFD, Start-Delta and Auto Transformer starters.
- Knowledge on HVAC systems, facility, safety and construction regulations with respect to chiller system installation would be an advantage.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. Proficiency with CAD software and excellent communication abilities.
- Certifications: Well versed in Singapore CP and Standards for panel design and electrical discipline.
- Required fluency in English; And/or Mandarin/Cantonese, other Asian languages would be beneficial e.g. Korean/Bahasa/Thai etc.).
