1. Operations Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the smooth back office operations of the Singapore branch of Iyo Bank, mainly in the area of ship finance. In addition, this position will also be responsible for advising on some front office operations (Treasury) to better handle the increasing scale of business. We are looking for a candidate with excellent working experience in back office as well as front office operations.
2. Responsible for executing back-office operations and providing direction and supervision to working level staff for customer transactions.
This includes but not limited to -
-Based on practical knowledge of front-office operations, review the content of contracts and other documentations for transactions, mainly focusing on ship finance, and ensure all transactions meet bank's standards and business needs.
-Based on experience and practical knowlede of Treasury operations, review the financing details from head office and other banks
-Based on professional understanding of the setting of interest rates for loans and deposits, review and confirm the applicable interest rate and its appropriateness for each transaction
-Monitor the process of payment execution and completion
-Training of team members as well as daily direction and supervisions on them
3. Manage execution of interbank remittance operations using SWIFT and staff training
4. Discussions and advice with front-office staff regarding Treasury operations (planning and execution of investment strategy)
5. Financial reporting to HQ in Japan in accordance with Japanese accounting standards and other statutory requirements, and preparation of financial statements and auditing in Singapore
6. IT-related operations and IT equipment management within the branch
7. Responsible for managing internal systems maintainance and updates
<Job Requirements>
1. At least 5 years of working experience and professional knowledge of back-office operation in banking industry
2. At least 5 years of working experience of Treasury operations (including; Foreign Exchange Transactions, Inter-Bank Fund Trading, Derivatives) in banking industry, is a must in this position.
3. Working experience and practical knowledge of ship finance. Experience not only on front-office operation but also back-office operations is required.
4. Practical knowledge on SWIFT and international remittance operation
5. At least 5 years of working experience and in-depth knowledge on financial reporting and analysis based on Japanese Accounting Standard (J-GAAP)
6. In-depth understanding of financial regulations, laws, guidelines and information security in both Singapore and Japan
7. Experience of managing team of 5 or more
