Job Summary:
The role involves collaborating closely with the sales team to deliver technical expertise for Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd. (ONT) products, ensuring successful customer application. It focuses on building strong relationships with scientists to position ONT as their preferred supplier. Responsibilities include providing pre-sales support through presentations, seminars, and technical calls, as well as assisting customers throughout their sequencing workflow—from experimental design to data analysis. The goal is to drive device utilization and revenue growth.
Job Duties:
Technical Account Management
- Manage key customer relationships to ensure successful use of ONT’s products.
- Provide customers with training on product usage and maintenance.
- Offer frontline technical support for application-related tasks, including setup, optimization, workflow implementation, validation, and data analysis.
- Develop and execute a communication plan for each assigned customer based on their needs and ONT’s business priorities.
- Document all technical inquiries from current and prospective customers in ONT’s CRM system.
Sales Support
- Collaborate with the sales team to deliver technical expertise to customers and prospects in pre- and post-sales stages.
- Assist with pre-sales technical activities, including on-site product presentations and demonstrations.
- Provide technical consultations on products and related applications during the sales cycle.
- Organize and participate in seminars, exhibitions, and on-site activities at key accounts and congresses.
- Monitor competition and market developments, reporting findings to internal teams like Applications and Product Management.
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D degree in life sciences or equivalent commercial experience
- Strong lab experience with expertise in genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, and related fields.
- Knowledge and practical experience with NGS platforms.
- Experience in designing novel experiments.
- Proficiency in sample preparation methodologies (e.g., DNA isolation, fragmentation).
- Skills in data analysis and interpretation of biological data.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Experience in giving presentations, teaching, or training scientists.
- Previous commercial experience in a customer-facing role.
