Client is an optics and photographic equipment manufacturer seeking for a 12-months Accountant to join their team immediately.
Location: Central
Salary: up to $5,000 per month (+ completion bonus)
Work hours: Monday – Friday: 9am to 5.30pm
Your new role
An independent, committed, and hands-on person who is strong in technical and analytical skills, effective and efficient in meeting tight deadlines, produce timely and accurate results and good problems solving skills. A prior knowledge of Malaysian accounting and Taxation will be preferred.
Auditing and Internal control function:
• Assist in establishing and streamlining accounting policy and procedure.
• Handle external and internal audit exercise and queries; prepare audit schedules including year-end intercom confirmation master file and other supporting documents.
• Preparing audited Financial Statement.
• Make continuous effort to improve/streamline work process within the department and organization
Taxation function:
• Maintain a tax schedule for Malaysia corporate tax filing purposes
• Liaising with tax agent on corporate tax queries and providing tax schedules.
• Monitor new announcement related to Malaysia SST, WHT and corporate income tax.
• Handle WHT tax and COR application as and when necessary.
Accounting function:
• Encompasses full spectrum of accounting activities
• Has hands-on experience on Accounts Payable function including invoice posting and payment posting.
• Handling staff claim, including reviewing and posting and payroll related posting
• Ensure inventory write down policy and process properly carried out, post necessary journal adjustment with necessary approvals.
• Prepare month-end/quarter-end/year-end journal entries and supporting reconciliations and tackle problems in day-to-day work
• Perform monthly checks on various divisional Sales, Purchases and Inventory and upload the relevant transactions to accounting system and reconcile between Business System and Accounting System
• Organize and work closely with Accounts Executives and the Business Units key personnel ensuring accurate and timely month-end closing
• Deliver monthly, quarterly, half yearly, yearly financial statements using SAP FICO to stake holders
• Check divisional inventory write down proposal before handing over to their sales coordinator for execution; thereafter do the final check after the actual write down exercise is being carried out and ensure all documentation and necessary approvals are obtained
• Oversee the day-to-day operations and activities
• Preferred to having prior experience in handling Malaysia accounting, SST and corporate income tax
What you'll need to succeed
• Min Diploma / Degree in Accounting / ACCA qualification (not mandatory)
• Min 4 years hands on in similar job scope
• Proficient in MS Excel (advanced level) and SAP
