Objectives of the Position
- Support Day team Operations of the Antioxidants (AO) manufacturing plant and ensure compliance to all production, EHS and quality standards.
- Familiarity with both Panel (DCS) and Field operations for blending, tank farm and packaging
- Act as link between Production and EHS functions
- Support Day Shift Leader/ Production Manager on special tasks and improvement projects
Responsibilities
- Support activities related to Day Operations of the Production team in accordance with local and company’s EHS rules and regulations/ SOPs.
- Good knowledge of Blending, Compacting, tank farm, packaging, and utility section to fulfill the tasks which are as follows:
EHS Support
- Inspection and maintenance of all EHS related systems with timely update of documentation
- Key point of contact for Day team’s site Emergency response team, provide regular updates and training to the Emergency Response Team (ERT) trained leased staff to remain ready for any emergency handling and authority audits.
- Maintain inventory and control of site PPE equipment, ensure timely inspection and certification of all the related PPE and accessories.
- Regular inspection of plant safety installations such as safety showers
- Support site induction efforts for contractors, new staff and one-off service providers
Day Operations
- Support the Production Manager in maintenance of documents and field checks related to the Responsible Care (RC) codes governing Production operations (day operations)
- Support maintenance of training matrix for the production team/ leased staff and the inspection of equipment utilized by the production team such as forklifts, hydraulic jacks etc.
- Support the Day shift leader to manage production operations in tank farm, Compactor/blender line and packaging line including coordination with the leased staff, production, quality, production planning & logistics (PP&L) and maintenance teams.Full familiarity with operating Compactor, Blender machines and packaging operations (FIBC/ small bags)
Coordinate with maintenance and quality department for topics such as sampling, equipment breakdowns, and planned maintenance tasks
Lead packaging related quality management activities and follow up on corrective actions at the shop floor under the guidance of the Production Manager
Coordination with production Planning Department and Deputy Assistant Manager (Production Executions) for loading, unloading and shunting operations.
- Ensure the correct usage and maintenance of PPEs for all the associated field tasks
- Understand the EHS risk associated with their tasks by reading the respective EHS risk assessment.
- Enhance contribution to the ESS (Employee suggestion scheme) by coming out with ideas for improvement.
Requirements
- Diploma in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering, or NITEC. Other qualifications with relevant experience will also be considered.
- 5 years of experience in chemical plant
- Basic understanding of chemical process.
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office programs and use of SAP PM module will be a plus.
- Able to work in Jurong Island.
- Able to work on shift if required.
