Responsibilities:
- This role involves in the development and implementation of Environmental Risk Management Roadmap. You will develop, maintain, and support the implementation of Responsible Financing checklist. This includes providing training to our internal stakeholders on a regular and ongoing basis.
- You will develop heatmap of environmental risk exposures in terms of sector breakdown, exposures to carbon-related assets, exposures to higher transition risk sectors and exposure of our internal operations to physical risks and carbon footprint.
- You will introduce internal scoring on customer's environment risk elements (physical and transition risk factors). This includes introducing portfolio level risk metrics on count-based and exposure-based descriptors.
- As part of the wider Risk team, you will monitor, advise and support data governance matters. This includes setting up a data management framework and standards across the organisation and ensuring that policies and procedures remained aligned to the Company’s risk appetite, business and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum Degree level with relevant academic studies in environmental management, ESG policy, climate change or sustainable development.
- At least 6 years in a corporate sustainability, ESG policy and compliance, ESG risk management or relevant discipline – with at least 2 years’ experience working in a sustainability or ESG role within the banking sector.
- In-depth understanding of sustainability, ESG and environmental risk topics.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing sustainability and ESG compliance programmes, policies and controls in the banking sector.
- Understanding of data governance and management
- Ability to work with Large, Complex Data Sets
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and assume responsibility for project deliverables.
