Job Purpose
Responsible for origination and the ongoing management of existing portfolio of cash management and broader transaction banking related opportunities with Japanese & Korean corporate and financial institution clients. However, this role will be the primary contact and Sales Manager for Korean companies across APAC, supporting the GTBD & GTFD leadership teams to enable the continued success and growth of the Transaction Banking business in APAC ex-Japan. The role will work closely with the “Relationship Management” (JBAP, GFIG and SFDA) departments and contribute to SMBC’s Deposits, Trade business opportunities and Flow FX KPI’s conducted with Japanese & Korean companies.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute a marketing plan in conjunction with Relationship Management departments in order to increase the level of Cash Management transactions undertaken by SMBC;
- Market Cash Management, plus a measure of Trade Finance and Trade & Payments related FX products and services to clients;
- In collaboration with GTBD, GTFD and RM teams, contribute to the development and research of new customers and business opportunities;
- Explore and execute solutions to client problems related to processing of transactions;
- Liaise with BCAPD and provide guidance as well as assist, when required, in order to execute the client transactions efficiently;
- Providing coaching and training on Cash Management products to SMBC staff;
- Addressing operational issues, including dealing with discrepancies and handling customer complaints, in support of team members to ensure an effective outcome is achieved.
- Build team camaraderie and help educate team members to the opportunities banking Japanese & Korean companies
Job Requirements
- 7+ years in Banking, with Cash Management and Corporate Banking experience preferred
- Good understanding of Cash Management processing and collaboration with Fintechs gained through practical experience
- Experience in preparing Cash Management documentation
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Experience of developing and working with key stakeholder relationships within a business
- High-level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a high dregree of awareness round market knowledge & intelligence both domestically and internationally
- Strong time management and organisational skills. Can do individual with a collaborative approach
- Ability to make quality presentations to both internal and external parties.
- Good negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Japanese or Korean would be an advantage as this role requires presenting and communicating to Japanese & Korean corporate clients whose main language is Japanese/Korean.
