Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer.
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring it is secure and properly balanced.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes using GPS and other navigation tools.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate logs of working hours, vehicle inspections, and mileage.
- Complete and submit required documentation, such as delivery receipts and invoices.
- Provide excellent customer service by being polite and professional.
- Respond to and manage any emergencies, such as accidents or breakdowns.
- Keep in regular contact with the dispatcher to update on progress and any issues.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
Requirements:
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a truck driver.
- Strong knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
- Physical stamina and ability to handle manual labor involved in loading and unloading.
- Basic knowledge of truck mechanics.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
