Job Description:
- Conducting comprehensive cost analysis for construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment expenses.
- Preparing accurate and detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and budget forecasts.
- Evaluating and negotiating contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitoring project budgets, expenses, and progress to ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising on the quality and safety standards.
- Collaborating with project managers, architects, and engineers to provide cost-related insights and recommendations.
- Handling variations, claims, and contractual issues related to cost and budgeting.
- Conducting on-site visits and assessments to verify quantities and evaluate work progress.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and health and safety standards.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new construction methodologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong proficiency in cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and budget management.
- Excellent knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
- Familiarity with construction contracts and relevant legal regulations.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in quantity surveying.
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
