Chubb has recently made strategic investments to reinforce the Chubb Life business through acquisition of Cigna and Huatai. The firm forecasts robust growth in new customer acquisition through the complimentary General Insurance business (COG), strong Digital Marketing and Telemarketing channels and wide set of digital partnerships in Asia to reinforce the existing Agency model. The different Chubb entities have made sporadic investments in digital solutions with limited inputs from Human Centered Design and enterprise Data Strategy. Resulting in a smorgasbord of stand-alone solutions. This offers a suboptimal experience for users, limits ability to leverage data and is not scalable.


The business has recently embarked on a multi-year transformation agenda spanning the digital, data, operations and channels to integrate and modernize the business with strong focus on driving better Customer Experience fueling top line growth.


There are various initiatives that need a strong Digital Product Manager to help transform the organization by leading by example, upskilling PO & BA capabilities, defining best practices and support the product management and technology development process.


Duties and responsibilities

We are looking for a seasoned candidate with solid experience in Product Ownership, Business analysis, understanding of technology and proven experience with end-to-end product management and delivery.


This role is an independent contributor that will lead product ownership execution for different initiatives as well as supporting the transformation, incubation and capabilities uplift for local markets.

The candidate will play a pivotal role to bridge the gap between business stakeholder, technology, and QA across key priority markets (Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia). This candidate will support Direct to Consumer, Customer facing as well as Agent facing digital touchpoints.


Communication and Collaboration:

  • Liaising with stakeholders to understand their goals, objectives and align technology with business strategy.
  • Clearly communicate the product proposition, vision, strategy, and benefits realization plan to a broad spectrum of market and regional stakeholders to gain buy-in and necessary approvals.
  • Partner with wide range of stakeholders including IT, business, vendors, and senior market sponsors to execute against the product vision and realize benefits/business value.
  • Educate stakeholders and create understanding within the organization of the delivery model and method for product execution.
  • Manage relationships with internal, external and group contacts to ensure that all digital products are developed, deployed, and maintained on schedule, on budget and up to Chubb standards.
  • Coordinating with different departments on project status, timelines, and budget.


Product Owner / Management:

  • Own and defining product vision, identifying customer needs, setting product goals, and working closely with the development team to execute the product roadmap.
  • Define and implement best practices for product lifecycle management. This includes conducting market research, performing competitive analysis, conceptualizing product features, overseeing product design and development, executing product launches, and evaluating product performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners to align product strategies with organizational goals and market demands. The candidate should ensure that all parties are informed and involved in key product decisions and changes.


Business Analysis:

Have oversight on:

  • Understand, analyze, and define business requirements and translating them into specifications.
  • Evaluating existing business systems and recommending improvements and enhancements
  • Overseeing the implementation of updates, changes, and new systems.
  • Documenting processes, procedures, and workflows related to systems and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Supporting QA activities.
  • Conducting regular system audits and troubleshooting.
  • Providing user training and post-implementation support.
  • Design and implement best practices for documentation and process optimization. The candidate must ensure that all procedures are effectively mapped out, well-documented, and communicated across the team. They should also periodically review and update these practices in keeping with evolving business needs and industry standards.


Transformation and Upskilling:

  • Actively participate in the upskilling and capability building of team members in the local market, emphasizing skill development, performance improvement, and personal growth. This includes identifying skill gaps, designing training programs, mentoring team members, and tracking progress against set skill development goals.
  • Develop and set up Communities of Practice to leverage collective expertise and promote knowledge sharing among team members. This involves facilitating interactions, encouraging collaboration, and overseeing activities linked to problem-solving, learning, and professional development.
  • Direct efforts to upskill and enhance the product management and BA capabilities of team members in the local market. This involves identifying skill gaps, developing, and delivering training modules, providing mentorship, and measuring progress against set skill development benchmarks.


Knowledge & Skills required:

  • Experience with Direct to Consumer, Customer facing as well as Agent facing digital touchpoints is preferred.
  • Bachelor/ master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • 12+ years of experience in leading teams as Business, Functional, and Digital SME in Insurance or Financial Services preferred.
  • Certified Product Owner (CPO) or similar qualification in product ownership or analysis is desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of Life insurance products, operations, channels, and customer behaviors.
  • An expert understanding of Agile delivery frameworks, processes, practices, tools - Jira, Confluence, Slack and other documentation capabilities
  • Previous experience in business analysis in technology functions is required.
  • Self-starter and relentless focus on outcomes and driving value to the business.
  • Ability to resolve ambiguity and manage conflicting needs from multiple stakeholders while working within the constraints of a complex technical and operational environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and inter-personnel skills.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to manage through creative abrasion.
  • Good verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively articulate and communicate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes.
  • Partners well with other squads, but tactfully protects the squad from distractions.
