RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer OAFA's (Office of Admissions and Financial Assistance) immersion programmes for international high school students, including:
    • Partnering with units across SMU on programme delivery and content

    • Sourcing for, and liaising with, external vendors

    • Managing the selections and offer process

    • Communicating with international participants and their guardians

    • Managing all necessary logistics and operations involved

  • Support admissions operations and processes during the peak admissions season, including arranging admissions and scholarships interviews, following up with applicants on their documentation and application materials, and supporting admissions events for offerees. These include: -
    • Reviewing each application individually to verify the authenticity and accuracy of applicants' high school results and other relevant details.

    • Setting up interview sessions for faculty members to conduct applicant interviews.

    • Contacting applicants to inform them of their scholarships outcomes.

    • Contacting applicants to inform them of their interview dates/times.

    • Handling applicants' requests to change programme / appeal their admissions decision.

    • Updating of applications on SMU's applications portal.

    • Handling applicants' queries.

  • Support admissions outreach efforts and signature events as part of the undergraduate admissions team, including event management support for mega events such as Open House, Discovery Days, and more.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Meticulous, with strong administrative skills and the ability to multi-task across different projects.
  • Highly proficient with Office tools such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Highly proficient with technology tools such as Zoom, and willing to learn new systems.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to respond to different types of personalities across different age groups.
  • Ability to work on some weekends, if there are interviews or events on Saturdays.

Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
