The Lead System Engineer is responsible for the detailed system design, solution completeness and support in implementation of medium to large scale IT/ Engineering projects with high complexity and within budget to comply to specifications and meet customer’s requirements.
Job Responsibilities: Technical System Design and Delivery
- Analyse complex technical requirements from customers, propose both on-premise and cloud-based video/AI related solutions and system architecture to meet requirements
- Evaluate products/solution from various vendors and capable to narrow down the choice of vendor’s product based on solution quality, product performance and cost effectiveness
- Actively engaged in system design review with customers and capable to contribute as an in-depth technical domain expert
- Able to work independently and act as “technical advisor” to project team and customers to resolve technical related issues
- Support and involve in proof of concept or demo during tender presales stage and project implementation stage, if required
- Support Request for Quotation (RFQ), able to negotiate with vendors and make products/solution recommendations to bid proposal team for inclusion in proposal
- Provide support in projects implementation upon award, including driving system level and detailed design, System Design documentation, Acceptance Test Plans, and seek approvals from customers and regulatory authorities where applicable, and manage 3rd party vendors on system delivery and technical performance.
- Configure, implement, optimize and test video/AI-related software and hardware but not limited to, IP cameras, video encoders, Video Management Systems, Video Analytics, storage, Virtualization, as well as benchmarking various video analytics solutions for technical comparative assessment etc
- Conduct and develop materials for use in customer training and train others in project teams or life-cycle support services team
- Conduct project post mortem, identify successful elements and propose recommendations on areas for improvement
- Follow up on implemented solutions and identifies new opportunities that complement the work that was completed
