Job Description
Cost Management and Estimation
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, covering materials, labor, and other expenses.
- Monitor project costs and track changes from the original budget.
- Advise on cost implications of different design options and modifications.
Contract Administration
- Create and review tender documents and contracts.
- Negotiate contracts with contractors and subcontractors.
- Manage contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
Procurement
- Develop procurement strategies and oversee the procurement process.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for goods and services.
- Evaluate and choose suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery schedules.
Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Prepare risk assessments and manage project risk registers.
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals.
- Coordinate with clients, project managers, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to specifications.
Financial Reporting
- Generate regular financial reports, including cost forecasts, cash flows, and budget variance analysis.
- Conduct post-project cost analysis and reporting.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in quantity surveying, cost management, or similar roles in construction.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Effective negotiation and communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Role involves working in an office environment with regular site visits.
