Job Desciption:
- Developing technical drawings for steel erectors and fabricators.
- Creating comprehensive plans and blueprints for steel structures in buildings, bridges, and industrial designs.
- Reviewing and supervising changes to construction drawings.
- Ensuring compliance with design, safety, and drafting standards.
- Inspecting structural steel for conformance with relevant codes and standards.
Job Requirements:
- Interpreting architectural and engineering drawings to create detailed fabrication and construction drawings for steel structures.
- Creating detailed drawings of steel members, including size, shape, and location, as well as any holes, cuts, or other features.
- Creating detailed drawings of connections between steel members, including the type and size of bolts, welds, and other fasteners.
- Using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create construction plans and structural drawings.
- Making calculations to determine how many supplies are required for work.
