Finance Manager

Beach House Pictures has an opportunity for a self-motivated finance professional with strong initiative self-starter skills to join our finance team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer the successful candidate will be based full-time in Singapore and working alongside our teams both there and Beijing. As well as working closely with our parent company, Fremantle.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

• Preparation of monthly management accounts & reports, perform monthly deep-dive analyses on variances from actual result;
• Assist in preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts;
• Assist in management of cash & treasury for Beach House Pictures and its subsidiaries as well as the parent company Fremantle, including:

1. weekly rolling cash flow forecast & cash requirements for the businesses;
2. arrangements with parent or subsidiary companies to manage cash and funding requirements of Singaporean and Chinese operations;
3. Setting up bank payments as well as currency exchange with authorised FX house.
4. Reviewing existing receivables and monitor overdue invoices with proactive follow up with relevant department head.
5. Reviewing existing contracted orders to ensure completeness and on-time invoicing

• Effective management of Group financial reporting requirements into SAP, including

1. Management of accounting records for all entities
2. Consolidation of those subsidiary financial records with head Singaporean company;
3. Month end reporting of consolidated results to parent company (Toronto) in NetSuite; and
4. Annual participation in Group Audit reporting requirements, as required.

• Effective engagement with auditors, both internal (from Fremantle) and external, to meet their requests and deadlines (including external statutory fillings)
• Effective engagement with the external tax agent to ensure on-time submission of taxes reporting
• Effective management of production focused financial activities, including:

1. Partnering with Producers & Production Managers to ensure all productions are set up in line with company policies & procedures (including banking and internal controls on production processes);
2. Regular reviews of production cost reports to ensure costs are managed to budget;
3. Managing iMDA and other Grants as required; and
4. Managing production audits for reporting to investors and third parties as required.

• Assist in review of all accounting processes and systems, and participate in implementation / of system change
• Other ad hoc tasks as directed.

Key Qualifications & Experience

• At least 3 years of commercial finance experience, particularly involved in project accounting (i.e. Percent Completion);
• Initial years in external financial audits is highly advantageous;
• Experience in the television production industry is preferred;
• Advanced degree in Accounting or other recognized Professional Qualification such as CPA or CMA is required;
• Strong entrepreneurial attitude and creative problem solving skills required;
• Willingness to work effectively both independently and on a team;
• Effective communication skills both oral and written.
