Position Title: Director, Engineering – Design Management (SEA)
Reports To: VP, Engineering – Design Management (APAC)
Location: Singapore
Nature: Full-Time Position
Key Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of this role shall include:
- Represent STACK at technical meetings with consultants, contractors, and vendors (as required).
- Develop engineering/design briefs for projects.
- Work closely with the delivery team(s) on appointing engineering/design consultants and equipment vendors.
- With the delivery team(s), outline the engineering/design consultants’ deliverables at the inception of each project and manage output(s) to agreed schedule(s).
- Ensure engineering/design consultants are briefed at the inception of every project.
- Lead Engineering/Design reviews through weekly meetings and design stage-gate reviews.
- Provide ongoing advice/input into the projects to ensure STACK’s brief/requirements are met.
- Long lead equipment / technology – support VP, Engineering – Design Management (APAC) with procurement initiatives including vendor relationships, technical specifications and keeping up to date with new technology in market.
- With VP, Engineering – Design Management (APAC), work on cost saving opportunities initiatives across projects in Southeast Asia.
- Support VP, Engineering – Design Management with reviewing Customer designs and engineering requirements.
- Lessons learnt/continuous improvement – ensure lessons are reviewed at the end of each project, and feedback into next phases of design and regional basis of design.
- Day-to-day decision making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering design management, data centres or a related field
- Proven experience in managing engineering and design projects from concept to completion
- Strong technical skills in engineering and design principles, methods, and tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including consultants, contractors, and vendors
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in cost saving initiatives and procurement processes
- Role involves frequent travel within the APAC region
