Howden is a specialist commercial insurance broker. Its regional footprint covers Singapore (regional headquarters), Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, and Philippines. It is part of the London-headquartered Howden Broking Group, a leading independent, global broker with offices in over 40 countries worldwide.


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager who has also spent time as a business analyst as this role needs you to be hands on and get involved with the small team of business analysts. This role will help to manage the ongoing day to day broking platform in place across some of the region.


YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive project plan for all up-coming work, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and manage the team, the external vendor and coordinate with our IT teams in the UK and across the region.
  • Ensure quality of deliverables from the external vendor.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all broking platform activities.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, business units, and third-party vendors.
  • Interfacing with external vendor to steer the technical delivery based on the needs of the business.
  • Managing user expectations and handling their queries.

Business analysis:

  • Interface with business users to gather and draft problem statements to pass to the project team and vendor for resolution.
  • Help turn system issues into pragmatic workarounds if required working with users to ensure workarounds are useable and sustainable until a fix is available.

Process Optimisation:

  • Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify processes that could be automated and then work with the team to deliver solutions that drive efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Ensure we measure the benefits of any change deployed to ensure we deliver as per our plan.

Change Management:

  • Manage user expectations and where necessary, ensure training is given if new functions are made available.

Performance reviews:

  • Carry out annual performance review of the small team in your care and follow up with mid year check point reviews.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE:

· Educated to bachelor’s degree level.

· PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.

· At least 7 years similar experience in the Financial Sector or 5 years similar experience in the Insurance Industry.

· Must have blend of business analysis and project management background as this a hybrid role.

· This is an IT based role and applicant must be able to demonstrate experience in working through entire project lifecycle acting as the interface between the business and Vendors IT solution architects.

· Knowledge of general insurance or broking systems and processes is a MUST.

· Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale integration projects.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

· Proficiency in project management software and tools.

· Pleasant personality with positive inter-personal skills and have confidence to deal with end-users and IT colleagues effectively.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Willingness to travel as needed to support activities within the region.

· Fluency in written and spoken English; proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus.
