This company is a subsidiary of a U.S. publicly listed company and regional head office is based in Hong Kong. They are specialized in cutting devices, measuring instruments and safety products (such as first aid kits) in the school, home, office, hardware & industrial markets. As part of our expansion plan, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the following position:
PRODUCT SOURCING MANAGER
He/she will be reporting directly to the Senior Director & Financial Controller, Asia Pacific in Hong Kong with the following responsibilities & requirements:
Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the Global marketing and supply chain teams, the Manager defines and implements the company’s sourcing strategy across assigned categories for Asia (non-India and non-Greater China, not including China, HK, Macau andTaiwan) supply base
- Identify, source and develop new vendors and products in the region
- The Manager needs to build from the scratch for the start-up. Monitor day to day operation including supplier management, product development, quote sheets, sample verification, payment terms negotiation, on time shipment & quality assurance
- This role directly supervises a team of product specialists/quality inspectors/supply chain planner across the assigned categories after building the substantial level of sourcing base and revenue
- Manage the product cost negotiations with vendors and identify cost savings initiatives
- Evaluate vendor performance and optimize the vendor matrix
Experience and Qualifications:
· Bachelor degree in a business, marketing or engineering
· At least 8 years of experience in Sourcing or Product Management roles, previous experience in a buying office preferred
· Experience in the cutting & safety categories (especially with disposable medical supply for First Aid) is preferred
· Strong product knowledge on disposable medical supply is preferred
· Strong trade record in Asia sourcing (not including China) especially in ASEAN countries
· Strong knowledge in supporting North America & European retailers orders requirements
· Strong factory base and knowledge of manufacturing
· Good track record on sourcing, price negotiation, ability to deliver the results to achieve required yearly cost savings objectives, proven track record of cost reduction
