Account Director, Sales - Group (Singapore)

Shangri-la International Hotel Management Pte. Ltd.

Responsibilities:

  • Sells all facets of hotels in Singapore. In assigned territory, responsible for rooms, catering, food & beverage, and other revenues as set out in the hotels’ budgets.
  • Implements all sales action plans related to respective market(s) and account portfolio.
  • Proactively seeks in-depth knowledge of accounts owned to understand total revenue impact on the hotels for better negotiation opportunities.
  • Maintains excellent relationships with existing accounts and solicits new business.
  • Proactively partners with Business Development team colleagues to source new business from within each assigned market and market segment, generating viable enquiries and converting business always with a view to maximize revenue for the hotels.
  • Works closely with the Business Development team in increasing share of existing accounts.
  • Promotes and produces leads for other Shangri-La Hotels through the WeSell! Program.
  • As directed, conducts all sales activities including sales blitzes, tele-sales, sales calls, site inspections, entertainment, business trips (domestic and international), attendance at trade shows, and other assigned sales related activities.
  • Actively supports and executes group wide sales initiatives, e.g. Special promotions, Sales Missions, Business Development Weeks, Business Closing Week, etc.
  • Always maximizes up-selling opportunities.
  • Ensures a timely, clear, and accurate handover of every confirmed group from Sales to Event Management.
  • Works with Event Management to follow up on client feedback and comments after events. Solicits potential repeat- or new business.
  • Uses appropriate systems to generate proposals at approved pricing, i.e. Amadeus Advanced (Delphi.fdc), Ideas etc.
  • Attends sales meetings and implements actions relevant to driving sales and business conversion.
  • Maintains close liaison with GSOs and STB representatives in assigned territory to solicit new accounts, action inquiries and convert business.

Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Business Administration or Hotel Management.

At least five (5) years of experience in a similar capacity in an international luxury hotel group.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues and guests

Excellent customer service skills and enjoy creating delightful moments for guests.

Able to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong operational leadership with a business mindset
