Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead our Navigation and Communication Engineers team. The ideal candidate will oversee technical operations related to the development, implementation, and maintenance of navigation and communication systems onboard vessels.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in conducting radio surveys, performing VDR Annual Performance Tests (APT), and managing repair activities for maritime communication systems.
Technical Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or similar in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the maritime industry, with a focus on navigation and communication systems.
- In-depth knowledge of GPS, radar systems, satellite communication, AIS, and other relevant technologies.
- Experience in managing technical projects from conception to completion.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide a technical team.
- Familiarity with maritime regulations and standards (e.g., SOLAS, IMO regulations).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Must Certified as a Radio Surveyor by a recognized authority (e.g., ClassNK, DNV GL, ABS) and have knowledge for getting Class Approval in regards documentation prepration and ISO regulation maintenace with audits.
- OEM certified engineer prefered such as JRC, DANELEC, NETWAVE etc.
- Proficient in conducting VDR APT in accordance with IMO regulations.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing maritime communication equipment, including VHF, HF, MF, Satcom, and VDR systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Navigation and Communication Engineers.
- Oversee the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of navigation and communication systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Provide technical expertise and support for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
- Stay updated with advancements in navigation and communication technologies.
- Conduct radio surveys and inspections onboard vessels to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Perform VDR APT and maintenance activities, ensuring accuracy and reliability of data recording and playback systems.
- Lead repair and maintenance projects for maritime communication equipment, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
- Collaborate with shipowners, classification societies, and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
- Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry best practices in radio survey, VDR APT, and communication systems.
