We are currently looking for a Piping Designer/Engineer to support our local office projects.
Your day-to-day role would involve the following activities:
- Ownership of equipment modules and packages through design and procurement phases
- Generation of Data Sheets, Material Requisitions & Enquiry Packages for procurement of equipment
- Generation of Technical Bid Tab Evaluation of vendors in compliance with Client specifications
- Developing Technical Specifications in compliance with Client requirements
- Development of each package through Kick-off meetings, Design Reviews, FAT’s etc.
- Project manage Suppliers to ensure packages are designed, manufactured and tested as per project requirements
- Interfacing with clients, vendors, client project management and other disciplines ensuring the highest level of service is provided
- Interfacing with client design team/end users
- Mechanical optimization/site support
- Delivery of agreed design scope within budget hours and schedule
- Assisting in the development of HVAC, plant and black utility (chilled water, heating hot water, and steam), plumbing, and compressed gas system philosophies.
- Development of project documents (e.g. calculations, reports and construction drawings and specifications, etc.) for clients, according to regulatory and industry standards.
- Code analysis and application related to the Mechanical, HVAC and Plumbing disciplines.
- Coordination with other internal disciplines as well as external team members (e.g. vendors, clients, and contractors).
- Researching mechanical / utility materials and methods as required.
- Assisting with design development of project packages and coordinating with the design team at the direction of the Lead Mechanical Engineer.
- Developing Mechanical / Utility equipment and construction specifications.
- Developing temperature / humidity control calculations, airflow diagrams, pressurization plans and classification plans.
- Equipment selections based on recommendations of Lead Mechanical Engineer and completion of equipment schedules.
We would like to hear from candidates who have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 Years of design experience in a design firm setting (preferably in the Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, Cell & Gene Therapy sectors)
- Experience working with CADWorx and Revit software would be ideal
- Understanding of and ability to develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- FE registration and/or pursuing, or obtained, Professional Engineering (PE) licensure is strongly preferred
- Self-starter with confidence in coordinating the efforts of others
- Good communication skills (ability to lead Technical reviews with Clients and Suppliers)
- Knowledge of GMP Manufacturing environments is preferred
