About Your Role
The Firm is seeking a senior professional with at least 15 years of prior work experience for our Singapore office to lead the portfolio management function for our investee companies in Indonesia. You will liaise directly with C-suite and other senior management in our investee companies to drive value creation, institutionalize processes and contribute to major change initiatives. You will report to the Firm’s senior management. Success in this role will make a direct and meaningful contribution to the long-term success of our Firm.
About Your Responsibilities
- You will take a hands-on approach in reviewing the investee company performance, creating dashboards and preparing monthly reports for Portfolio Committee meetings.
- For newly acquired investee companies, you will assist to draft a value creation plan and evaluate senior management team capabilities. You are expected to gain agreement and help drive the implementation of the plan with the investee company’s C-suite and senior management as well as track key performance metrics.
- You will be actively involved in reviewing and advising on cash/working capital management, capex management and other key matters at the investee company. You should be ready to deep-dive into selected issues and bring in external advisers, as needed, to help the investee company resolve such issues.
- You will perform regular dialogue and if needed, counselling with investee company management team. You are expected to have a strong ability to influence C-suite executives.
- You will play a key role in preparing the investee company for eventual exit and will support the sell-side/capital market advisors as needed.
- You will be required to frequently travel within the region, primarily Indonesia and more specifically, Jakarta.
- You will maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity and at all times comply with the Firm’s Code of Conduct and other legal and regulatory requirements.
About You
- You will have earned a bachelor’s degree in economics, business, finance, engineering or another relevant subject, and an MBA, in each case from top-ranked universities and with strong academic results.
- You have at least 10 years of prior work experience in private equity, investment banking, asset management, consulting or top-tier strategy consulting. Prior work experience related to private equity is highly desirable.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, which is our Firm’s primary operating language. As our business requires communicating with companies in Indonesia, fluency in Bahasa is highly desirable.
- You have strong numerical and analytical skills, including a strong understanding of corporate finance.
- You have a strong work ethic and are willing to commit to delivering results (and have a track record of doing so in prior roles). You also have a positive and can-do attitude and are willing to pitch-in and do what needs to be done to deliver results.
- You must be able to satisfy the licensing requirements of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, including “fit-and-proper” criteria and/or an exam if required, and maintain required licenses on an ongoing basis.
