Job Description:
The Telecom Technician is responsible for mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
To successfully complete these activities according to the project plan and schedule, the Telecom Technician should:
- Understand roles, responsibilities, and compliance requirements.
- Follow the project completion execution plan and the Notification of Energization (NOE) Flow Chart.
- Interpret system drawings and follow the Walk Down procedure.
- Submit a daily report for transparency with the Discipline Lead Technician.
- Attend daily toolbox talks for task briefings.
- Perform mechanical completion (‘A’ Scope ITRs) in collaboration with the construction team, adhering to project drawings and specifications.
- Execute pre-commissioning activities (‘B’ Scope ITRs) as per vendor documentation and specifications.
- Support Operation Test Procedures (OTP) under supervision.
- Use specific tools and test equipment safely and with quality assurance.
- Assist field service vendors in system commissioning.
Requirements
- Technical diploma in Electronics, Communication, Automation, Instrumentation & Control, or Electrical disciplines, or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of construction or commissioning experience in FPSO offshore projects and systems.
- Knowledgeable in Telecom Systems (PAGA, LAN, TV, Telephones, Radio, Radar, GPS, etc.) and installation/testing of communication cables (Ethernet, Fibre Optic, Antenna feeders).
- Proficient in installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of Telecom devices.
- Experienced in installation of indoor and outdoor telecom equipment, loop checking, and testing of telecom systems.
- Able to interpret engineering documents including datasheets, schematics, block diagrams, and loop drawings.
