Role Summary
We are looking for a Shipbroker to join our LNG desk. You will work alongside other Shipbrokers and carry out various tasks as outlined in the description below. The ideal candidate will have some experience within LNG or Gases, and possess strong interpersonal skills, with a driven and self-motivated approach. The ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic broking environment is also required.
What you will be doing
- Fixing LNG tankers vessels in the LNGC/FSRU/Small Scale market segments
- Provide Market information/reports to customers including Owners and Charterers
- Preparing daily market reports/position lists.
- Expanding and developing contacts with principals from both Owners and Charterers in the Far East and in the LNG segment.
- Liaising with the Group’s global offices, where necessary, to optimise business across the Group.
- Building a relationship with current clients and sourcing for new clients to identify opportunities in the market.
- Preparing charter parties and other necessary fixture documentation, where required.
- Assist the Operations department to gain a full understanding of the more technical nature specific to shipping and trading in LNG.
What we are looking for
Key Attributes
- At least 6 years’ experience working as a Shipbroker with a global shipbroking firm
- A degree from a reputable university will be highly regarded
- Previous shipbroking experience is advantageous
- Experience within Gas broking is preferred
- Able to build strong working relationships with clients
- Confident and able to work well under pressure, with the ability to adapt
- An outgoing and confident personality and positive attitude
- Strong team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Good MS office skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
