What you'll do:
As a Windows Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the overall health and stability of the IT Infrastructure. You will be responsible for managing a wide spectrum of responsibilities, from providing BAU support to developing best practices and managing knowledge within the team. Your expertise in Windows Services will be invaluable in driving service improvements across the organisation and delivering root causes for any high severity issues. With your keen eye for identifying potential risks in technology changes, you will help ensure the smooth operation of enterprise systems.
- Provide BAU support and act as the last level of escalation point for all production support activities within the Infrastructure team
- Work effectively with technical peers such as architects, peer experts and project teams on technology road maps and projects
- Develop best practices, manage knowledge and ensure necessary trainings are imparted to the team wherever applicable
- Manage service improvements for all Windows services supported throughout the organization
- Drive and deliver root cause for any high severity issue
- Review technology changes to identify potential risks
- Maintain programmable code outlined in technical instructions and specifications for operating systems
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Windows Engineer position brings a wealth of experience in managing Active Directory and relevant services. Your expertise in Active Directory, Forest and Domain Policy implementations will be key to your success in this role. You have proven ability to write scripts for ad-hoc reporting and task automation, and have experience with Role Based Access Controls, Identity and Access Management solutions and workflows. Your excellent communication, interpersonal and logical skills make you a strong team player who is customer service oriented. You thrive under pressure and are committed to solving issues.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in managing Active Directory, relevant Services
- Expertise in Active Directory, Forest and Domain Policy implementations
- Experience with Windows services, Windows 2008, Windows 2012, Windows 2016, Failover Cluster, Hyper-V, VMware, Altiris, VSA (Software Defined Storage) and HPE DL/BL/Synergy/Simplivity series hardware
- Ability to write scripts (PowerShell basis) to provide ad-hoc reporting and automation of tasks
- Experience with Role Based Access Controls, Identity and Access Management solutions and workflows
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and logical skills
- Customer service oriented and a strong team player
- Ability to work under pressure and a commitment to solving issues
