Responsibilities:
1) Execute pre-test preparation tasks, including:
- Interpret DWO, its sample descriptions, its reference codes, the standard test methods requested, deviations from standard test method (if any) and acceptance criteria;
- Prepare draft reports / raw data sheets to Technicians;
- Cascade the instructions to the Technicians via draft reports / written instructions / Technique Sheets
2) Engage customers to build & maintain good relationships with customers, including:
- Understand customers' testing objectives;
- Advise customers if the acceptance criteria are reasonable;
- Advise customers on how to resolve issues with their processes.
3) Familarise and understand the tools used for the maintenance of quality in the laboratory:
- Participate in the preventive maintenance of departmental test equipment;
- Participate in the periodic monitoring and standardization/verification of departmental test equipment;
- Participate in the calibration of departmental test equipment.
4) Under heavy load, assist with the execution of tests, including:
- Carry out tests according to the written procedures;
- Provide adequate housekeeping while carrying out tests;
- Record raw data into worksheets / draft reports;
- Transcribe test results to official test reports;
- Recognise & escalate potential invalid test results;
- Assess & recommend test validity to the senior.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science or related Science Field
- 1 or 2 years of working experience in Manufacturing and QA/QC industries would be an advantage, i.e. industrial attachment, previous job
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 is an added advantage but not compulsory
- Able to multi-task and highly proficient at work.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision
