PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Manager / Senior Manager position will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth of the energy transition businesses within Sembcorp. You will be part of a team in developing solutions for both new and existing customers, with a focus on sustainability. Specifically, you will need to work closely with internal and external collaborators to: (i) identify potential novel technologies for generating low carbon energy (e.g. ammonia fired power and thermal power with carbon capture), (ii) identify attractive low carbon business opportunities across the carbon capture, utilisation, and storage value chain, and (iii) participate Government’s low carbon energy projects. This position will work closely with variou.s internal stakeholders (Finance, Engineering, Technology etc) while also building relationships with external stakeholders (statutory boards, potential customers, partners etc.)

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct feasibility assessments to evaluate commercial, financial, and environmental viability of opportunities.
  • Develop selected opportunities from inception to final investment decision and financial close by collaborating with internal teams and external advisors.
  • Conduct financial analysis, including cost estimation, revenue forecasting, and simple investment modelling for projects.
  • Formulate terms of reference and scope for partnerships and collaborations with technology developers, customers, and partners.
  • Prepare and present management papers to seek approval for viable projects, working closely with the various functions within the organisation.
  • Work closely with potential stakeholders on possible collaborations for these projects.
  • Provide regular updates to management on the progress of these initiatives.
  • Training and guidance will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in your role.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Engineering or Business.
  • At least 8 - 10 years of experience in business/ project development.
  • Understanding of energy transition landscape, including evolving policy and regulatory frameworks is preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability in project management, financial planning and collaboration.
