Key Responsibilities
Reporting into the Technical Manager APAC, your responsibilities in this role will include:
- Providing technical advice to management on fleet condition and any issues affecting vessel availability.
- Assisting with maintenance and repairs using computer-based planned maintenance and procurement systems.
- Supporting the preparation of dry-docking specifications, maintenance budgets, and expenditure monitoring.
- Responsible for vessel dry docking, repairs and surveys when required.
- Collaborating with Operations to plan maintenance schedules, labor requirements, and work programs.
- Monitoring and coordinating statutory requirements for vessel surveys and audits.
- Managing inventory control of stores and spare parts, including procurement from local suppliers and service contractors.
- Coordinating repair work, safety inspections, and equipment supply in alignment with production schedules.
To thrive in this role, you should demonstrate:
- An exceptionally high standard in safety and compliance.
- Proven experience in marine engineering, with a relevant maritime or trade qualification.
- Experience leading teams of engineers and coordinating external service contractors.
- Familiarity with mechanical equipment and systems such as DP, diesel electric engines, power generation, propulsion systems, and hydraulics.
- Experience liaising with classification societies and statutory bodies regarding vessel certification and documentation compliance.
- A solution-oriented approach.
- Initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Flexibility to travel to port locations and vessels as required to meet operational needs.
- Ability to work under pressure with competing deadline and changing operational schedules.
- Experience and knowledge of large AHT’s (UT 731 and VS 490 Design) is desirable
