Legal at Coda

Coda is seeking an experienced and dynamic Legal Director to join our legal leadership team. The Legal Director will manage all legal, regulatory, and policy matters for the Americas region. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent critical thinking, good judgment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and adept stakeholder management. As a Legal Director, you will lead a team of legal professionals, setting the bar for excellence across the legal team.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement legal strategies to support and advance the organization's goals and objectives.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of legal professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear, pragmatic and effective legal advice.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage potential legal risks, advising senior management on appropriate courses of action.
- Commercial: Support the business on commercial deals, including negotiating and drafting commercial contracts with game publishers, payment channel partners and distribution partners.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve legal disputes, working with external counsel as necessary.
- Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory, law enforcement and government bodies in the Americas, ensuring timely and accurate communications.
Requirements
- JD or LLM and admission to at least one state bar in the US
- Minimum combined 8 years of law firm and in-house experience with a strong background in commercial negotiations
- Excellent critical thinking and judgment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
- Proven leadership and team management abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work in a global, fast-based and dynamic environment
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
