Description
The Software Development Manager (Project Manager) will lead all aspects of the software development project life cycle, working with project sponsors/key stakeholders (external client and internal), Business Analysts, Solutions Architects, and product leadership. Ensure quality throughout all phases of the project. Deliver software solutions and project(s) within the defined scope and budget. Build and manage the project plan, tasks, milestones, risks, issues, and deliverables. Adapt to constraints of human & financial resources and changing priorities to ensure successful delivery of the project(s). Ensure transparent and timely reporting of software development & project status, issues, risks, and financials.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the software development process from inception, planning and design to implementation and deployment, ensuring best practices are implemented in coding standards and project milestones.
- Own the overall project delivery of our products and custom elements to clients
- Ensure client satisfaction through appropriate communication, risk management, scope control and quality delivery
- Manage resources and deliverables in a cross-functional, matrixed organization
- Create and update status, budget, schedule and scope with accuracy and timeliness that feed company KPIs
- Understand and use standard tools, processes, templates and best practices to ensure quality
- Communicate to both internal and external stakeholders at all levels, escalating when appropriate
- Effectively identify risks and actionable mitigation plans
- Work across the organization to identify and resolve issues
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Mathematics or related field
- Relevant years of working experience in developing and delivering software products and solutions
- Proficiency in any of the programming languages such as Java, C++, C#, .NET, Javascript and familiarity with relevant frameworks and technologies.
- Experience in other financial software products is an advantage
- 5+ years of full life cycle project management in technology with proven ability to deliver results according to specified scope, budget and timeline
- 5+ years with industry standard project management tools, methodologies
- Strong knowledge of full life cycle SDLC and methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall
- Financial services industry knowledge/experience and working in a matrixed (shared resources) environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills and experience with complex multi-faceted projects
- Highly motivated who works independently to drive solutions in an innovative fast-paced environment; ability to take advantage of new concepts, business models, products and technology
