Main purpose of the role:
To undertake regulatory and management reporting in respect of Lloyd’s entities in support of ASA CEO.
Key responsibilities:
1 Maintain accounting records for managed and outsourced syndicates (as delegated) including completion of the trial balance.
2 Assume responsibility for the preparation of reconciliation work e.g. bank balances, accounts receivable etc.
3 Prepare all Lloyd's Regulatory returns for Lloyd's Syndicates, including Annual returns, Quarterly returns, GST Returns, Tax Returns etc to be reviewed by ASA CEO.
4 Prepare Syndicate Management Accounts.
5 Assist with planning and production of Syndicate annual report and accounts, management information and financial schedules and monthly and quarterly accounting information, as required.
6 Contribute to the development of systems for syndicate reporting.
7 Assist in the migration of key tasks to syndicate personnel and to monitor the accuracy of this data.
8 Liaise with syndicate staff, auditors, and actuaries as necessary.
9 Ad hoc projects.
Key skills and experience required:
1 Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
2 Qualified in a professional accounting qualification or qualified by experience.
3 Familiarity and experience of Lloyd’s reporting requirements desirable.
4 Sound knowledge of IT systems – especially Excel, Vision, Sun Accounts.
5 Strong organisational skills and ability to produce consistently accurate work to tight deadlines.
6 Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
7 Ability to progress issues on own initiative, but sufficient judgement to know when to refer to ASA-CEO.
8 Ability to work collaboratively with others at all levels and establish strong relationships both internally and externally.
