Role Profile: PM and Calibration Technician
Job Overview
A PM & Calibration Technician is responsible for doing Preventive maintenance of production equipments and also ensuring that measuring and testing instruments are calibrated correctly and meet industry standards. They work in various industries, including manufacturing, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, and electronics, to maintain the accuracy and precision of equipment used in production and quality control processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Calibration: Perform calibration of instruments and equipment PT/ TT/ RH/ Flow meters/ load cells of tanks and reactors and other instruments makes Endress & hauser/ Emerson etc instruments and coordinate with vendors for other instruments eg MAS, particle counters , standard weights, TOC, conductivity , PH meters according to established procedures and standards.
- Preventive Maintenance : Perform preventive maintenance of filling equipments.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of calibration procedures, results, and adjustments made.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with instruments that are out of calibration.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on calibration equipment to ensure proper functioning by scheduling with the users
- Compliance: Ensure all calibration activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality systems.
- Inventory Management: Keep track of calibration equipment inventory and ensure availability of necessary tools and materials.
- Customer Support: Provide support and guidance to internal and external customers regarding calibration issues and best practices.
- Training: Train other technicians and staff on calibration procedures and the use of calibration equipment.
Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using calibration tools and software, understanding of measurement principles, and knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ISO, NIST).
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and precision in measurements and record-keeping.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues with equipment and determine appropriate solutions.
- Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills for documentation and customer interactions.
- Organizational Skills: Efficient management of calibration schedules and equipment inventory.
- Educational Background: Typically requires a degree or certification in electronics, instrumentation, engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Mid-Level: 5-8 years of experience in calibration or a related field, with proficiency in handling complex equipment and procedures and the ability to manage calibration program
Work Environment
- Calibration Technicians to work in shifts ( General shift and regular shift) in manufacturing plants.
- They may need to work with in cleanroom environments.
- The role may require physical activity, including standing for long periods and handling heavy equipment.
