Senior Application Technologist - Your future position?
Responsibilities:
- Being knowledgeable about multiple product applications and equipment used in the processing of Beverages
- Work with customers to develop formulas for new products or revise current formulas to meet new requirements
- Understand customer’s production process and be able to suggest process improvements or changes
- Maintain an understanding of new ingredient technology, including recommended usage and handling requirements, and determining the best application for new ingredients
- Comprehend and communicate ingredient restrictions and processing constraints
- Be recognised by our customers, and Givaudan, as an authority and valued technical resource in specialist area
- Demonstrate leadership and a proactive approach for technical solutions to customer issues
- Work with Sales and Marketing to develop product demonstrations and ideation sessions
- Increase level of expertise in area of specialisation to enhance Givaudan’s technical leadership position
- Create consumer winning product recipes for using modern ingredients and technologies
- Work with regional account managers and regional innovation teams on customer and market specific commercialization strategies
- Collaborate with applications technologists in the sub regional Flavour Innovation Centres to win the customer briefs
- Facilitate exchange of applications knowledge across and global teams
- Lead evaluations of flavours in food applications for large commercial and innovation briefs
- Support selection of flavours and functional and nutritional ingredients for key projects according to specified requirements (customer, regulatory, legislation, cost)
- Maintain the flavour performance and stability data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles and its stability in finished applications
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised lab environment observing EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines
Requirements:
- A University degree in Food Science/Food Technology/Chemistry/Biology/Food or Chemical Engineering
- At least 10 years working as a Food Technologist/Application Technologist in beverages application including strong understanding of beverage applications, ingredients, and processes with practical experience in customers’ beverage manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated understanding on many of the flavour reactions/interactions in beverages application
- Demonstrated experience developing new recipes and to review / upgrade existing ones
- Experience translating market trends into innovative products for customers
- Project management skills with proven experience managing customer projects
