Chief Barista / General Manager

Ton Coffee

Position Summary:

The General Manager of the new coffee brand is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the stores, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service, achieving sales targets, and managing staff effectively. This role involves strategic planning, financial management, and operational oversight to ensure the store's success and alignment with the company’s vision and goals.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Manage store inventory, including ordering, receiving, and tracking stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to.

2. Financial Performance

  • Develop and manage the store’s budget, including setting sales targets and controlling costs.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze sales reports, and implement strategies to achieve financial goals.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including profit and loss statements.

3. Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise store staff, including baristas, shift leaders, and support personnel.
  • Schedule shifts, manage time-off requests, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address staff issues and concerns.

4. Customer Service

  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Address customer complaints and feedback in a professional and effective manner.
  • Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere for both customers and staff.

5. Sales and Marketing

  • Develop and execute local marketing initiatives to drive sales and increase brand visibility.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with corporate marketing teams to implement promotional campaigns.

6. Strategic Planning

  • Set long-term objectives for the store and develop strategies to achieve these goals.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth and expansion.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions with principals.

7. Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate records of store operations, including sales data, expenses, and employee information.
  • Prepare reports for upper management as required.
  • Ensure that all required licenses, permits, and certifications are current and valid.

8. Research and Development

  • Research and develop new food and beverage to drive menu expansion
  • Expand product line



Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail or foodservice management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in specialty beverage mixology.
  • Proven experience in brewing and serving Vietnamese Coffee.
  • Proven experience in vertical and horizontal expansion of Tea and Vietnamese Coffee.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Financial acumen and experience with budget management.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make strategic decisions.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, long hours, including weekends and holidays.
