Senior System Administrator (Permanent/West)
Our client is seeking a Senior System Administrator to ensure the timely delivery and smooth operation of IT infrastructure and systems within a highly collaborative and agile team environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration on IBM AIX, Redhat Linux, Windows, and VM environments, running on Lenovo and HP servers.
- Maintain high availability systems, including IBM PowerHA, Windows Clustering, and Veeam Backup & Replication and recovery processes.
- Monitor and enhance system performance and capacity, identifying trends and implementing improvements.
- Assess and specify requirements for system and IT equipment updates, including installation, setup, configuration, and implementation.
- Provide daily IT support for company network equipment (LAN & WAN), such as routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi controllers, access points, RF handhelds, PDAs, tablets, and printers
- Manage new infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
- Oversee system management tools, enforce cybersecurity policies, ensure IT compliance and hardening, and assist in regular IT audits.
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Over 5 years of experience in System Administration relevant work experience.
- Strong hands-on AIX, Linux, Redhat, Virtual Machine - Lenovo & HP Servers
- Experience with cloud deployment (MS Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Team player with good interpersonal and problem solving skills.
