The Manager, Finance (Ledger & Fixed Assets) is responsible for
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the University's Shared Services Finance - Ledger and Fixed Assets team, ensuring adherence to the University's accounting policies and internal controls.
- Participate in monthly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss review with management.
- Review and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of capitalization of assets under construction (work-in-progress), asset acquisition, disposals, transfers, and depreciation postings.
- Review Monthly/Quarterly/Year-end Financial closing reports, ensuring reports/schedules and adjustment entries are accurately and promptly prepared/posted.
- Review and approve asset disposals via the Asset Management System (AMS).
- Ensure year end activities are promptly executed (e.g. foreign currency revaluation, Asset accounting year end closing, financial year-end balance carry forward)
- Ensure ledger and asset related ServiceNow requests and Case/Query management fulfilment meets Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Liaise with Internal/external Auditors regarding audit queries.
- Supervise and coach team members, to ensure all deliverables of the team are completed accurately and on time.
- Develop team members
- Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and Knowledge Articles are up-to-date and properly documented.
- Monitor and manage KPIs and SLAs to ensure they are achieved with the highest level of customer service.
- Identify automation and process streamlining opportunities and collaborate with relevant teams on system implementation, enhancement, and user acceptance testing.
- Participate in ad hoc projects based on business requirements.
Requirements
- Degree with at least 8-10 years of related working experience
- Experience in ERP financial system (e.g., SAP Hana is preferred)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Detailed oriented, meticulous with positive attitude.
- Resourceful, self-driven, proactive, problem solver, ability to work independently.
- Good organisational and planning skills.
- A team player who works well with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
