Denka Life Innovation Research Private Limited (DLIR) is established in Biopolis, Singapore, with the aim of securing the first overseas R&D base of the global chemistry company, Denka Co. (Japan). Our missions are to contribute our company growth in 2030 (Mission 2030) via developing healthcare related products such as diagnostics, medical simulator, and wearable medical devices.
The device development team was launched in February 2023 to achieve higher sensitivity in immunological and molecular diagnostics by conducting assays and device development in parallel within a research institute. The team is further expanding to collaborate with various departments and research teams of Japan in the fields of medical simulator and wearable medical devices.

Job Description
DLIR is looking for R&D Engineer with basic technical background in engineering and medical devices to assist in the development of point-of-care diagnostics as well as to assist in daily administrative tasks of the lab. We're searching for a team-oriented, quick learner with adept problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills while possessing expertise in at least one of the following areas:
· Utilise 3D CAD design tools and perform high precision 3D printing (FDM & DLP)
· Utilise basic microcontrollers boards such as Arduino, ESP32 or STM32 to build simple circuit boards for sensor control and data acquisition
· Testing and assembly of electronics and mechanical parts and debugging of software using basic tools like python or C++
· Familiar with maintenance of laboratory inventory and laboratory administrative tasks (Procurement, equipment preventive maintenance/repairs and safety matters)
· Enthusiastic, highly motivated, able to multi-task, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Administrative works, such as ordering and payment with SAP system.
Working hours: 8:45-17:30 (Mon-Fri)
Work Location: Buona Vista
Requirements:
1. Basic experience in 3D CAD design software, like Solidworks and Fusion360.
2. Basic experience with microcontroller boards like Arduino, Esp32, STM32.
3. Basic experience in handling simple electronics and basic hands-on soldering skills
4. Prior experience or have interest in handling administrative tasks like raising Purchase Orders, payment requests, arranging preventive maintenance of equipment and liaising with vendors.
5. Diploma/Higher Nitec/ Nitec holders in Bioengineering, Biophysics, physics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, or any related fields.
6. Excellent communication skills in English (Written and verbal).
