Job Description for Role of Application Support (ILMS/ILMA/SDWT/EDOC)
Role and Responsibility:
To coordinate and support infrastructure maintenance activities.
To manage implementations of new application releases, adhering to the best practices of the release management process.
To work closely and communicating effectively with various partners such as Peer Application Teams, Infrastructure, Vendors, Security and Change teams, to provide seamless support for the business.
To manage Production issues by responding in a timely manner in accordance with the Service Level Agreement with the Business.
To enhance existing support process to maintain/improve service level & quality.
Optimize applications for best performance and scalability.
• Design and development of automation scripts/interfaces between application systems
• Writing high-quality source code and delivering the automation scripts/interfaces within a tight deadline
• Communicate, manage and mitigate system issues and risks
• Troubleshooting and fixing bugs
Continuously improve and evolve comprehensive DevOps practices including Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment, Release Automation, Blue & Green/ Canary deployments, appropriate application telemetry, and observability
Skills and Experience Required:
At least 2 years working in an Application Support Environment.
Core technical competency required:
• Linux; Unix/Python Shell Scripting
• SQL, preferably in MariaDB/MySQL
• Java programming
Good to have experience:
• Application Server: JBoss
• Middleware: IBM MQ, Apache ServiceMix, Active MQ
• OpenShift
• QlikSense/Tableau
• TLM/CMS platforms with tools like Smartstudio, TLM Control, Smart schema, Process Designer & Webconnect
Hands-on working knowledge on DevOps tools for Source Control (Git, Bitbucket), Continuous Integration (Jenkins, Maven), Continuous Delivery (CA Release Automation)
Understand microservices running on Openshift or AWS, elasticsearch, service monitoring on the cloud, PaaS environment such as Kubernetes.
Understand JSON, JSP, Servlet, and working knowledge for Java Restful API.
Strong technical skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform impact analysis in a structured manner.
Good verbal & written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
With a keen interest in providing high service quality and familiar with the demand of a 24x7 support environment.
Basic understanding of Swift message knowledge would be good.
Experience in application implementation projects in financial institutions would be advantageous.
