As the Fleet Manager, you will lead a team of Vessel Managers and service as a vital link between ship and shore management. Overseeing day-to-day operations of the assigned ships thereby taking necessary actions and decisions to maintain asset value of the ships, statuatory compliance, budget management and timely technical assistance to ensure seamless flow of business operations.
Primary responsibilities:
* Provide guidance and solutions on technical issues for optimal performance of ships thereby meeting the service requirements in a cost-efficient manner.
* Plan, coordinate and implement major repairs, dry-dockings and vessel retrofit upgrades.
* Accurate budgeting and managing ships with in the approved budget.
* Coordinate with procurement & contracts department to ensure timely supply of spare parts and consumables to ships.
* Coordinate with marine personnel department to ensure vessel is deployed and managed with effective staff
*Ensure ships are managed in compliance with all Flag state, Classification society and Port State requirements.
*Lead and manage multi-functional teams, including contribution to HR processes such as recruitment interview, deployment and performance management of staff.
* Motivate and develop the team of vessel managers, keep abreast of vessel management developments and needs
* Any work as assigned by supervisors
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, maritime operations or a related field and seafaring Chief Engineer (COC1) with at least 20 years related managerial skills
· Experience in Dual Fuel (DF) Vessel management, new build vessel deliveries and has sailed as an Engineer on ships with DF propulsion systems.
· Good operational knowledge on maintenance & repairs, investigation of machinery failures and compliance with statutory requirements
· Proven leadership skills with a hands-on approach
· Good stakeholders management skills, self-driven and resourceful team player with proven communication skills
· Familiarity with ISM /ISPS/CSO and kept abreast of maritime developments
