Description:
- To ensure that the building and its related works are constructed in accordance with Drawings and Specifications and the Building Control Act and Regulations;
- To monitor and report on the progress of works;
- To carry out inspection of civil and structural engineering works prior to concreting;
- To supervise concreting work;
- To carry out checks on compaction and curing of concrete;
- To carry out checks on striking of formwork, re-props and removal of props;
- To carry out checks on quality & erection of precast components;
- To check on structural steel works;
- To carry out inspection on structural defects rectification works;
- To carry out supervision and inspection of the works as directed by the Supervision QP;
- To manage and supervise the Resident Technical Officer under his charge;
- To ensure that records of all civil and structural engineering works, including records of tests, defect rectification, inspections, work progress, material and equipment on site, safety, etc, are timely updated and properly kept;
- To attend site, progress, variation and coordination meetings;
- To verify all reports and claims relating to structural works submitted by the contractors;
- To resolve contractor's queries and coordinate the works of the main contractor
- and other contractors on site;
- To liaise with all relevant authorities;
- To check all drawings and specifications for discrepancies and to report to the Supervision QP, Consultant or S.O. and bring to the attention of the Quantity Surveyor;
- To ensure that works are carried out in a safe and proper manner;
- To feedback site problems, discrepancy and irregularities to Supervision QP Consultants or S.O.;
Requirement:
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience as a Resident Engineer of which at least three (3) years shall be in supervision of works similar in nature to major construction works listed in the Project Brief such as in buildings, civil pavement works like rigid pavement and taxiway/runway pavement works, etc.
- Civil and structural works in Airport, transportation terminals, commercial complexes or hospitals, etc.
- Must be accredited as a Resident Engineer with Building Control Authority (BCA)/ Joint Accreditation Committee of the Institution of Engineers Singapore (lES) and the Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore(ACES);
- Working experience of bored pile construction, basement construction, experience with large span steel structural construction would be preferable;
- Strong knowledge of C&S details, working drawings, shop drawings and C&S construction method;
- Strong knowledge of LTA and BCA requirements and regulation for foundation and building structure construction;
- Basic knowledge of architectural and M&E shop drawings and construction works on site;
- Conversant with local building codes and regulations;
- Good supervisor and leadership skills;
