Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of breastfeeding mothers and infants to evaluate latch, feeding patterns, and milk transfer.
- Provide one-on-one consultations to educate mothers on breastfeeding techniques, positioning, and milk supply management.
- Assist mothers in overcoming breastfeeding challenges such as latch difficulties, nipple pain, engorgement, and low milk supply.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members, including nurses, physicians, and lactation specialists, to develop and implement individualized breastfeeding plans.
- Conduct prenatal breastfeeding classes and educational sessions for expectant parents to promote breastfeeding awareness and preparation.
- Maintain accurate records of patient consultations, assessments, and recommendations.
- Stay current with evidence-based practices and advancements in lactation management through continuing education and professional development.
- Advocate for breastfeeding-friendly policies and practices within healthcare facilities and the community.
