Responsibilities:
- Maintain and optimize the UNIX infrastructure, contributing to service capacity planning, monitoring, change management, operational improvements, and automation for streamlined IT operations.
- Design, configure and deliver IT infrastructure project requests (e.g., platform migrations, planning and execution) to enhance infrastructure stability, efficiency, and scalability.
- Installation and configuration of Virtual Machines, OS, Active Directory, creation and management of Organizational Units, and administration of remote desktops, alongside implementing and supporting DNS and DHCP, ensuring robust network infrastructure and seamless user access management.
- Define multiple virtual servers on a single host machine, virtualizing Windows servers and connecting them to networks and clouds.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and proactively improve infrastructure stability and scalability.
- Own and resolve technical issues, ensuring smooth operations and managing conflict and risks associated with them for effective resolution.
- Provide cloud administration expertise for a robust and scalable IT environment.
- Resolve and close incident tickets, including identifying root cause to prevent future occurrences.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology or related studies.
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience administering and UNIX/Linux/Solaris systems in a large enterprise environment with Subject matter expert level expertise in system administration tools such as LVM, Kerberos, DNS, networking, storage, and security, and experienced in administering VMware ESXi.
- At least 6 to 10 years’ experience on the install, configure, manage, and optimize VMware solutions. Be able to define multiple virtual servers on a single host machine, virtualizing Windows servers and connecting them to networks and clouds.
- Expertise in Active Directory design and support (Group Policy Object (GPO), Active Directory (AD) Schema, Organization Unit (OU), LDAP, Sites, Replication)
- At least 5 years’ experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- At least 3 to 6 years’ experience in multifaceted projects, including Hep-A, Suite-D RABs, BSL-2 Lab, Cholera, EMS & BMS integration with a centralized server involving network infrastructure enhancements, server operating system and application upgrades.
- At least 5 years of experience in Patch management tools like BigFix, SCCM with Firmware patching.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Solid knowledge of ITIL principles for incident, problem, and change management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze problems and design effective solutions.
- Able to work independently as a good team player in a fast-paced environment
- Able to multi-task and work under pressure
- Always keeping up to date on the emerging technologies in the market
- Must be available to cover on-call shifts as needed at night and weekend.
