Location: Based in our Bukit Merah saleroom

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday (40 hours, over 5 days)

Salary: $9,000 to $12,000 per month, dependant on experience

We are a busy auction house in Singapore, holding 40+ online auctions each year.


Our auctions cover a wide spectrum of specialisms including Interiors & Collectibles, Jewellery & Watches and Asian Ceramics & Works of Art.


We operate a hybrid 'bricks and clicks' business model; so we physically ‘take in’ all items that we sell and exhibit them in our saleroom, however all bidding is conducted online.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for full spectrum of accounting and finance
  • Ensure timely preparation & submission of monthly, quarterly and annual accounts
  • Manage income tax, GST and all other tax compliance
  • Manage our small finance departmentDevelop an understanding of business performance drivers to deliver measurable improvement
  • Assist the Managing Director in the development of a multi year growth plan
  • Ensure compliance with industry standard AML regulations
  • Lead the roll-out of new financial reporting systems, budgeting and processes
  • Develop and implement processes, transaction flows, and accounting treatments
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for day-to-day operations and capital investments. Implement strategies to optimise cash resources and minimize financial risks
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including our accountants (PwC), government agencies, licencing authorities, auditors, corporate secretary and banking partners
  • Provide targeted strategic insights across every department of a business based on analysis of operational performance, industry dynamics, market trends, etc
  • Manage general Human Resources tasks, including pass applications, payroll, contract preparation, staff holiday and medical leave records
  • Provide analysis to support any strategic business decisions and perform thorough financial analysis including financial modeling, profitability analysis, monitoring business issues and impact to bottom line
  • Act as catalyst in driving forward initiatives critical to achieving key commercial strategies and objectives
  • Attend to ad hoc operational finance queries from clients and colleagues

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field
  • CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in setting up and running a finance department or processes across a wide spectrum of finance operations and/or in a high growth business environment
  • Be a subject matter expert in our accounting and auditing
  • At least 8 years’ experience in a financial/ accounting environment
  • Experience of scaling up a SME
  • Creation and monitoring of company-wide KPI's
  • Experience with implementation of ERP software
  • Experience of business partnering with C-suite
  • Experience with investor relations and fundraising
  • Experience with securing government grants for SMEs
  • Able to work in a rapidly changing environment and who is comfortable proposing, justifying, initiating and implementing change
  • Possess an analytical mind and high interest in analysis coupled with a strong commercial acumen
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and commitment to the role
  • Proficiency in MS Office, G Suite, Xero and Stripe
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
