The Facilities Electrical Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for working in a team environment with other engineering subject areas to provide engineering, design, and support for operations, and manufacturing. The Electrical Engineer also provides support for the following systems site wide: electrical, substation, primary power distribution, building power, lighting, UPS and generator.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform regular field inspections during construction and monitor projects to ensure consistency to Micron specifications and standards, agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
- Evaluate existing electrical elements on campus for safety and integrity and provide recommendations and design for improvements.
- Lead a sustaining electrical design team to produce electrical construction drawings that meet schedule and budget requirements.
- Ensure constructability in relevant environments in or near operating buildings without interruptions.
Safety & Quality:
- Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and standard processes
- Take the quality improvement initiatives in area of expertise to reduce Plant impacts, improve efficiency and drive cost savings.
- Lead Project electrical design and construction specifications, Tool Utilities Matrix design standards and design checklists that ensure quality, efficiency, and safe work.
Technical/Data Analysis:
- Analyzing systems data to make critical decisions, improve performance, gain efficiency, and drive cost savings.
- Collaborating with technical specialists across all Micron sites to solve and align on standard processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelors/ Masters in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in facilities electrical engineering role
- Project Managemeent: Proven track record to plan, drive and complete projects effectively
- Validated skills in working effectively with team members from different subject areas
- Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and self-improve
- Proven ability to communicate and present technical information effectively to all audiences
- Proven experience with electrical system designs
